Former NFL player Shannon Sharpe interviewed comedian Kat Williams on his podcast show. During the interview, Kat Williams made disparaging remarks about Steve Harvey, Cedric The Entertainer, Tiffany Haddish, and Ricky Smiley. Now instead of talking about what was said, I believe it is important to focus on how, as a community, we can learn to collaborate and support each other.
“I understand that people may not always get along, but we must keep our differences within our community. When we’re upset, it’s best not to escalate the situation. Sharing our disagreements on social platforms only deprives viewers of the opportunity to learn something useful.”
“I was intrigued by Katt Williams’ statement of being a single father of seven daughters, as I can relate to being a single father myself. However, I wish he had shared more about his journey and how he coped with the situation. It’s disheartening that society is more interested in sensationalism, and Katt Williams’ negative comments overshadowed the positive aspects of his statement.”
I enjoy Katt Williams’s comedy as well as Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey, Tiffany Haddish, and Kevin Hart’s. I feel they all bring something different to the table and what they bring collectively makes black comedy “well-rounded”. Could you imagine if these comedians put their differences to the side and put a tour together? It wouldn’t be an arena big enough to hard the crowd.
