We’ve survived worse — from the auction block to the bread line — and every time, we’ve built something from nothing.

Section 1: The Shutdown Is Just Another Test

When talk of government shutdowns and food stamp cuts hits the headlines, the narrative often paints Black families as victims on the verge of collapse. But history says otherwise.
Our ancestors made it through slavery, Jim Crow, and decades of discrimination — without stimulus checks, without welfare, without automation.
When the system breaks, we don’t break with it — we build around it.

Section 2: Survival Is in Our DNA

The Black community has always created systems of support when none existed. In the 1970s, rent parties helped neighbors pay the landlord. During the bus boycotts, carpools replaced public transit. When grocery stores left our neighborhoods, we turned to community gardens and pop-up markets.
Today, even with AI replacing jobs, the same instinct kicks in. Black creators, coders, and entrepreneurs are learning to use AI to own their narrative — not be erased by it.
